How Systemic Team Coaching Supports your Strategic Planning.
Organizations facing rapid, unpredictable change have an opportunity to build the collective capacity to navigate whatever comes next.
The Opportunity
As your organization begins to explore what’s next, whether it’s your strategic plan or your next quarter - we come alongside as systemic team coaches, supporting the people and teams in developing and implementing. Our work means creating the conditions for deeper conversation, helping groups build on each other's perspectives, and developing the kind of shared understanding that turns a framework into something the whole organization can move with confidently.
What is Systemic Team Coaching?
Systemic Team Coaching (STC), developed by Peter Hawkins and extended through the Team of Teams work he developed with Dr. Catherine Carr, asks a different question than most team development approaches: how much more is possible when the whole system moves together?
Most organizations have capable teams. The opportunity lies in the connections between them. The board has its work. The leadership team has its work. Staff have their work. When those groups develop a shared language, shared understanding, and the ability to think and move together under pressure, the organization becomes more than the sum of its parts.
We help build and sustain agile collaboration across functions and stakeholder groups, genuine alignment across board, leadership, staff, and community partners, and an organization that learns and adapts together over time rather than just responding to whatever arrives next.
What This Looks Like in Practice
Phase One wraps around your process. The opportunity here is to use the planning work itself as a team development experience, helping the group think together more deeply, surface perspectives that might otherwise stay quiet, and build the genuine collective investment that makes a framework something people carry forward rather than refer back to.
Phase Two supports implementation, continuing with the leadership team as the framework moves into practice. Real situations become the material, the framework becomes a living reference point, and the team builds the habits of collective leadership that keep the organization aligned and adaptive as the environment keeps shifting.
Throughout, we facilitate key conversations so that leaders have the space to go deeper without carrying the weight of managing the process.
